Life is crazy

Well I'm sure most people know by now (does anyone ever check thus blog b any more, I wouldn't lol) that Trisha and I divorced earlier this year. This is not the place to discuss the particulars. It happened.

A lot has changed in my life this last year & I feel I need a place to put that down if for no other reason than for myself and Lincoln.

I opened a private chiropractic office 7 years ago & I was never really successful at running a business. It came to a point were I had to realize the truth and look for a job. I was truly blessed in finding the job that I currently have that keep me in my chosen profession. I work at a health center for Micron's employees. It is what has allowed me to financial stay afloat & even thrive.

That's it for now. More to come soon.....?

Sun Valley

Spending the weekend in Sun Valley with Trisha & Lincoln just a little family get away.

Sleeping in with a five year old is near impossible for both parents but getting an extra hour of sleep is all thanks to a Batman DVD and poptarts!

We finally made it out of the room & took a 30 min drive to the trail head.  The drive there was amazing with the fall colors starting to show.  We said we would take pictures on the way back but yeah that didn't happen.

Lincoln was interesting on the hike. It was only 2.5 miles but it took forever with the throwing rocks, throwing dirt, picking up sticks, complaining that he was hungry, complaining that he was dizzy (we think he meant tired) & asking to be picked up and carried. We finally made it and almost all his above complaints where forgotten.

The lake was perfectly clear and amazing. I would highly recommend this hike to anyone who makes the trip to Sun Valley, but bring a fishing pole and leave earlier in the day.

The hike down took a fraction of the time with our dizzy (tired?) boy running a lot if the way. He may have been dizzy since he did fall 4 times & would have fallen more but he took to holding mom's hand.

Dinner that evening included pizza for the boys and sushi for mom. Awesome day!

Fathers & Sons outing

Took Lincoln this year to our ward's camping trip. This year he did cry for a full hour in fact he didn't cry at all.  We had a blast even if dad had to do all the loading and unloading.

The fireside talks where awesome. The first was on priesthood line of authority. The second was priesthood blessings. Great night full of the spirit.

Pancake breakfast in the morning and Lincoln ate like a mad man. I think Lincoln didn't want to go home since he was crying when we left.

The long road back

Life is a long road I'm learning and its a very interesting journey. Needless to say I've been absent for a long time and a lot has happened in the meantime. So I'm going to give it a go and see if my phone can help me keep things updated. So if there is anyone still there I will be posting.

WE HAVE MOVED!

We have moved from the house where we lived for the longest period of time in our marriage (25 months). What a move it was it took us a little over 2 weeks. No before you go and say that we are all slow we had the opportunity to move over 2 weeks instead of all in one day. Which was a blessing considering Trisha had to work the weekend that we had to be out of the house.

Thanks to Rowena and Courtney (Trisha's mother and sister in law respectively) for coming down and saving our bacon on cleaning the house. I have determined that it is the in town moves that are the worse because you get a little lazy with your packing and its all the little things at the end that you have no idea how to pack up and you just keep finding things that should have been packed.

Anyhow, that chapter is over and done with and we are on to the next more exciting chapter.

See I can be better at blogging. The question is; is anybody reading our blog now?

Holy freaking COW!

Yeah I know it has been forever since we have posted on our blog. I am not going to make any commitments to say I am going to post more regularly so I can cut down on people asking when I am going to post next.

So up dates:

Trisha graduated from BSU's nursing program this last spring and she had to wait to find a nursing job. That was a blessing in disguise since she made friends with a critical care nurse and helped her to get in on a job interview on that floor. Needless to say she nailed the interview (and her supervisors at the same hospital think she walks on water). She just got off orientation last weekend she loves her job. Most of our conversations revolve around the things she sees and the craziness that goes on a floor taking care of really sick patients.

Linc is getting big and talks a ton now. One things that makes of laugh is when he gets frustrated with me and tells me to be quite. it usually goes like: "Shhhhhh dad you no talk! Shhhhh dad I say no talk. Shhhhhh dad no talk to me!" This goes on as he is pushing me away or putting up his hand to tell me to stop. We can't help to laugh as we try to help him express himself in a polite way. Hard to believe that he is almost three. He is absolutely in love with Thomas the train and Yo Gabba Gabba! I like it that he is into Yo Gabba Gabba since it's a child show that as a parent I can enjoy watching it with him. I highly recommend it to anyone with toddlers. A word of warning it takes a few times watching it to get use to DJ Lance Rock.

Now me. I've been trying to get the clinic up to where I want it to be and that has been interesting thing to do. I have recently brought on another doctor into the clinic which is a really good thing. He is training me on a technique that is amazing! We are getting our patients out of pain in an average of 4 visits which is really cool thing to do and see happen with our patients. So any friends and family if you are having any problems ever give me a call before you try any other therapy.

In other news we are moving at the end to a bigger house! We will be 5 minutes away from the clinic which will make life much easier with running back and forth from there. The other benefit is we will have room for family to come and stay when they are in town and not feel crowded. We are going from a 2 bedroom 1 bath 900 sq/ft house to a 4 bed 2 1/2 bath house about 1800 sq/ft house with a giant backyard! So that is an invitation for people to come and visit more.

So now you have been updated with us. Again I am not going to make any promises about posting more but I am hoping to surprise myself and do more.

and we're back...?

Okay, I get it, I need to update our blog. So finally here it is. To much has happened since I last updated to report on all the goings on with us. Needless to say Lincoln is getting a lot bigger and he is starting to talk and sign some words. He is a little ball of energy and loves to watch cartoons! Trisha has one more semester at BSU and then a nursing degree and hopefully a job (keep your finger's and toes crossed). The clinic is still going and we are looking for a good ideas on how to get busier so if you have any good suggestions send them my way! So I'll end with some more false promises of being better and posting more, and a promise to post some photos tomorrows.

I get it, I need to update my blog more often. Blah blah blah. You people don't come here for me anyhow it all about the Linc so enjoy the pictures.

Linc & Dad's trip 2 trips to Logan

So I was a brave soul and took 4-5 hour trip with just me and Linc twice. The first one was for my sister's 30 B-day (man she is old) and the second was for Terra's graduation.

It's a little more difficult than I thought it would be traveling with just me and a one year old, but I learned quickly how to use the rear view mirror for surveillance and to get the snacks to Lincoln all with out having to turn around (it's an art).

For the first trip we left late on a Thursday afternoon and I was hoping Linc would take a good napped on the way there but nope he was awake during the entire trip. We stopped at a subway somewhere along the way to get Linc out of the car. He is the raddest kid and just sat there on the table while I fed him applesauce and some other snacks mom had packed for him. We left their around 5p.m. so I assumed he was going to fall asleep since it was dark the last hour of our trip. But no he was wide awake when we got there.

When I walked into Josh & Terra's apartment they had some friends sitting on the couch that I didn't know and I did a double take of the apartment number making sure I was in the right place. I was weird out for a few seconds and was backing out of the apartment until I heard Josh's voice. Linc ran around for the next hour so excited to be out of the car. Then I finally put him to bed at 10 pm much past his 7:30 pm usual bed time.

The next day was a nice chill day. I went to the driving range with my Dad, and Brothers Josh & Brett. Linc stayed with his Nanna and Auntie and took a nap. We then went to the Olive Garden to celebrate Sari's Birthday. Linc was a mad man on eating pasta and ate whatever we put in front of him boy can that child eat sometimes. The rest of the evening was spent getting Lincoln asleep and then playing guitar hero III until late. Josh and I stayed up way to late playing that game but it was so fun.

Saturday was chill we got some tortas from this mexican market up the block. Lincoln loved it there he because he had some mariachi music to dance to while we waited for our food. We went to this cool park in Logan where they had this huge playground. Most of it was way beyond Linc's ability but we did find a swing that he loved.

That night was mostly spent hanging out with Evan and Ashlie as Josh and Terra had to go to a stake conference meeting (I tried to convince them to ditch). We had fun and I learned a new game called flux. Ashlie kick our butt mostly but I had the best turn that won a game which took me 10 minutes to finish. I was laughing so hard towards of the end of that turn because I royal screwed Evan and Ashlie and took both their hands. As Chris Farley would say "it was AWESOME"!

It was a great trip but it was nice to get back home to Trisha Sunday morning.

The next trip we left on a Friday afternoon and Linc was amazing this trip. He was just chill and took a good nap. We stopped in Tremonton along the way to visit David & Gina and their 3 kids (a family that I taught and baptized on my mission) and hung out with for about an hour and had dinner with them. Lincoln didn't eat anything he was more interested in finding new things to play with. It was good seeing them since I haven't seen them in at least 8 years. Linc fell asleep on the way into Logan and stayed asleep for the night (hurray!)

The next day Linc and I missed out on the commencement speach because of napped time but we had an interesting rest of the day. Linc stayed with his Nanna while a some of the family went over to the college to check out Evans senior project (he automated the dome & they won some money aren't they special) kind of cool if you are a nerd. So on the way down two kids with the encouragement and following the example of an adult (surprisingly not me) jumped in the elevator and we got stuck!

It was a big elevator thank goodness since there was about 14 of us in there (i think I am writing this long after the event) and we had room to sit down. I sat down with Davin and kept him busy with my phone so the 10 minutes it took maintence to come and pry the door open didn't seem to long. Terra started to get concerned there towards the end since it was getting close to the time that she needed to be getting ready when for her graduation.

The graduation was well a graduation as much as I could get could get out of it with a one year old running around. We did see Terra graduate and that was about all I saw of it. Oh how I love graduations. Long and mostly boring thank goodness for children to get us out of having to sit there throught the whole thing. What I do love is the stuff after that includes food and hanging out. We went to Josh and Terra's church building and had a little celebration for Terra. Linc had a great time running around with his cousins like a wild indian. Children are awesome because I got out anything to do with clean because Linc need to go home and go to bed, can you say melt down.

We bailed early Sunday so we could get home to see Trisha.

HURRAY SPRING

We have finally had a few days where the weather has graced us with some warmth. So we have tried to be outside as much as possible. Linc is enjoying the freedom to actually be outside for more than 60 secs and not to be outside to just go in or out of the car. I think I am more excited for spring this year cause it will be more than just pushing Linc in s stroller goggling over how amazing adorable my son is. We went to the park yesterday and Linc and I played while Trisha studied. Linc decided he wanted to push his stroller and he got about 20 meters away before I went after him. We went to the store to get a few summer things and I just had to get him some bubbles. He loves the bubbles. It was the very first thing I did when we got back from the store. We also got this rad little swimming pool that has a slide and a fountain. I would have set the pool up yesterday if Trisha had let me. So when summer is here send your kiddies over to play in the pool.

Lincs 1st Dental Appointment

So being friends with the dental office across the hall from my office I get all the best information on dental care. So in our effort to be good parents we are following their advice and brought Linc in for a dental exam. The thought is if we bring him in regularly then he will get use to being in a dentist chair. I am hoping it works because I personal HATE going to the dentist with all the poking, prodding, drilling and just unpleasantness of the whole experience. I'm a rabid anti-dentite. Linc loved running around the office and smiling at the girls and then came time to look into his mouth. He didn't like that so much but I think he'll live. All in all any time he gets to run around and smile at girls he is happy. When Lincoln gets older you fathers out there had better hide your daughters .

Who doesn't love easter?

Who doesn't love Easter? Candy, eggs and more candy so like I said what's not to love? Trisha works weekends nights (what a great combo) so I had to keep Linc from his basket until she got home. As you can tell from the photos Linc was just tearing into his basket and he was all over my special pick for him his Patrick cookie (I later shared the nice dry cardboard tasting cookie with Ben & Sam). We had to get ready early since we were going to Fruitland to be with Trisha's family for church. The travel up their threw off Linc's morning nap which made the rest of the day's nap schedule really fun. The best thing for Linc about having Grandparents so close is he gets double the easter basket (again more candy). Linc enjoyed the egg hunt with the running (walking in his case) around and finding things but he needed a lot of coaching from mom. Next year I'll have him tackling his cousins and taking their candy because they all manged to get a lot of his candy from him. Enjoy the pics.

Lincoln gets 3 birthdays

Lincoln sure is a special boy he got to celebrate his 1st birthday 3 times and he got cake 3 days in a row. We did cup-cake with a candle on his actual birthday (the 13th of March in case you are wondering) but he was very tired that he wasn't into it all. He just had to get him ready for bed and that was that.

Then next day while I was at work Trisha, my Mom and Terra gave him another cup-cake and re-sang him happy birthday and he did much better with a lot more smiles.

Then we had his "birthday party" up in Fruitland with a bunch of his aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents, great grandma, great aunties and you get the point. Lots of craziness with everyone running around. He did pretty good with his presents with a lot of help from me and surprisingly his cousins didn't get overly involved. When we got to the cake (his 3rd one and the best one because his Nanna made it and it was a caterpillar) he was again getting tired and he really didn't into his cake and I tried to get him to eat the cake but he was done and just wanted mommy. One for three isn't to bad is it?

One of Linc's presents was a pirate ship which cousin Sam persistently keep asking if he could finish opening so he could play with it. We told him he had to come to Linc's house to play with it so he alternated between asking to play with it to asking to go to "Trisha's" house. It was a great time.

The pink high chair is because it's cousin Madison high chair.

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!

So much has happen in just a few short weeks since I last wrote. Linc is on the move and is seeking to master his walking abilities. It all started with that durn lion with wheels his Nanna gave him for Christmas. He loves that Lion and sometimes gets upset if we pull him away from it or if anything gets in his way including a wall (he is getting good at throwing little temper tantrums which Trisha insists comes from my side). After mastering pushing that Lion all over the house (well not actually master because he hasn't figured out how to turn it) he would start to let go and stand there. He would stand only when he was distracted by something. As soon as he realized that he standing by himself he would drop right to the floor. We were fortunate enough to both be at the house watching him when he took his first 3 steps. He has greatly progressed from there but mostly we walks around the couches so he has something to grab onto. When he does brave his way from the couch his head gets his head to far forward after a few steps and goes tumbling to floor with a smile on his face. There are a few times when he is going slow enough that he can stay standing after taking 3-4 steps. He is always proud of himself after walking even if he has fallen.

We have had to buy a new trash can with a lid because he was getting into it (as with anything else that isn't tied down). Trisha found him one day with the trash tip over and he was licking the old lids to his baby food. I guess we will make sure to feed him more.

I have been trying to get some pictures of him walking but the camera is a little slow, so hopefully I will have some to post here over the next few weeks, or I will try and figure out the whole posting video thing. I am a called a nerd by some, so I should be able to figure it out.

More photos

Just more photos of everyone's favorite boy

We have been AWAL

So we have been neglectful of our blogger but I have repented and promise to be more diligent about keeping everyone updated. So much has happened since our last post. Mostly everyone is interested in Lincoln so I will give update on him.

Lincoln is growing so fast it crazy. He goes from not being able to sit up to sitting on his own to army crawling all over the place it seems in a matter of a few weeks. It hard to imagine that he was ever weighed 8 pounds and had to be held for everything.

Linc now has a 5 teeth. Trisha discovered the his first tooth on our way home from Darin's and Holly's house. He has been a happy baby through it all no major fussing with his teething. He is a funny kid he only wants to chew on his hand, mom or dad's hand or his blanket. He absolutely has no interest in any teething ring or his binky anymore.

He started off with an army crawl which was the funniest thing. His legs kick and flail as he using his arm to get to exactly where he wants to be. He use to only pull himself to the tv remote or a cell phone but now it it looks slightly interesting he moving towards it. And know that he has figured out how to crawl there is no stopping him. Linc loudly lets us know if we pull him away from something he thinks he needs. The dishwasher is his favorite. He protests every time we close it.

Christmas in Casper was was awesome with all 26 of us in Mom and Dad's house. The trip there and back left something to be desired (not the company we were with but the length of the drive we love you Josh and Terra). It was great being home and hang out with the family and I just enjoy everyone company. Linc was more interested in the wrapping paper than he was with any of his presents, but that is how it goes the simple things in life are the greatest. Lincoln is such a joy to watch and a really happy baby.
That is about it with us. I am working hard on trying to get the clinic busier. Trisha is at work right now and enjoying the nursing program (as much as you can enjoy studying between work, school, Linc and trying to get enough sleep).I will be posting once a week now either Saturday or Sunday. Looking forward to keeping everyone updated. I know I left a ton out but we'll be better promise. Here are a few pics to bring everyone up to speed.

Our fun weekend with Josh & Terra

Josh and Terra came to visit us this weekend and we had a blast as you can see from the photos. On their Mac they have this wonderful picture program that we got a little carried away with as you can see from our few selected photos we are providing you with for your entertainment.

The weekend mainly consisted of hanging out. Josh and Blake went to this quaint driving range near our house. Terra and Trisha managed to also get out of the house a few times with Lincoln.

We had an impromptu cinco de mayo party on Saturday with Dan, Di and Bailey. Things really got out of hand with the virgin margaritas, which Bailey couldn't get enough of.

Dan also got caught up playing with the computer and making funny faces. I think Trisha's photo is the best.

The ladies couldn't make up their mind on which movie they wanted to rent so Josh and Blake made a fatal error of renting the Covenant (in other words don't rent it!) which we all had a good time of falling asleep to.

Josh and Terra couldn't get enough of Lincoln which mom and dad are always grateful for the help. Alas, the weekend ended too soon and Josh and Terra or currently on their way home, but not before we tried to persuade them to move back to Boise.

Enjoy the photos

Untill next time!
